We are so proud to have bred this outstanding palomino stallion, Gazaro Anopheles (aka Quito). His dam, Rociera CLXXXI, is a stunning, classy, chestnut mare and was in the ribbons both times she was shown as a youngster. She is just over 16hh and has substantial bone, a good temperament, excellent conformation and outstanding movement.
His sire is our well known cremello stallion, Mas Yaco (aka Yogurt), His action is long and straight, and his temperament is fabulous - full of fun but kind.
Quito was shown twice as a 2yo. He was the Reserve Youngstock Champion at the Spring Iberian Performance Show but upped his game later in the year to become the Youngstock Champion at the Summer Iberian Performance Show.
In 2021 he was graded APTO (suitable for breeding) by the Spanish Commission with some very favourable comments and even by 2024 he remained the only Graded PRE Palomino stallion in the UK despite the increasing popularity of the colour. He was backed as a 5yo in January 2024 and is being schooled under saddle by Geoff. Obviously, he has only been ridden for a short time but he is making good progress because he is calm, listens and tries to please.
We had every intention of keeping Quito and using him at stud once his ridden career was established but with our advancing age common sense dictates that now is the time to find him a new home and for someone else to take him along his journey. We know that stallions are not for everyone and we would have no objection to him being gelded.
